The Chinese village of Huairou, on the outskirts of Beijing, has a phenomenally beautiful library. Tucked into the mountains, the Liyuan Library seems like the most relaxing place in town. The architectural team at Li Xiaodong Atelier claim that “we can’t compete with nature’s splendor,” but I’m not so sure after seeing such a beautiful indoor space, and a library no less!
